"Chakana" which refers to the Southern Cross constellation (Crux) in the ancient Inca civilization, was once widely recognized as the guidance of space and time, thus a very important part of the agricultural activities of the entire civilization.

In 2002, Juan Pelizzatti from Italy settled in this beautiful place and established this winery under the sky of the Andes. He named it "Chakana" , as a tribute to the ancient Inca civilization and the power of nature.

Chakana

With the help of a young and adventurous winemaker, Gabriel Bloise, Chakana is dedicated to the study and understanding of some of the best terroirs in Argentina with the aim of producing authentic wines that express the identity and character of their soils.  In 2006, Chakana invited Alberto Antonini, the legendary Italian winemaker joining the team as chief consultant, which brings it further internationally renowned!

The Chakana Grand Tasting Night will be held in Picada, a premium Latin (Argentine and Chilean style) restaurant in Lan Kwai Fong, Central. Matteo Acme, Export Manager of Bodega Chakana, will lead all participants to taste 7 distinct bottles, representing 3 different levels of Chakana portfolio, including the top-tier "Ayni series! Come join us and meet with Matteo face-to-face, and explore the essence of Inca civilization!

Matteo Acmè

Grown in a wine and food enthusiast family, Acmè has grown a very strong passion in wine. While he was working as a journalist, Matteo attended a sommelier course in Italy. After that the Italian has qualified the WSET Level 3 certificate when he was living in China. From that on, there is no way back, Matteo decided that the wine world was a good place to work.

Organic wine is one of the most important topic for Matteo. At the beginning it was an environmental and ecological concern. But that led him to discover also biodynamic and then natural wines and unveiling a whole universe of non-standardized, original, surprising tastes and sensation. On top of that, in the organic/biodynamic/natural wine movement can find many producers and sommeliers who all share the same concerns and quest for an alternative way to produce and consume wine. Somehow, a community has been born and it is undermining the conventional way to approach the food and beverage world.

「Chakana」，在古印加文明中代表南十字星座，可用來引導空間與時間，對整個文明的農業活動相當重要。 2002年，來自意大利的Juan Pelizzatti踏足這遙遠的異國，在安第斯山脈的浪漫星空下建立了這個酒莊，命名為Chakana，以示對遠古印加文明、大自然力量的尊崇敬意。

Juan夥拍年輕且具冒險精神的釀酒師Gabriel Bloise，費盡心思苦功研究了解Mendoza的最佳風土，終於釀造出真實呈現安第斯山脈土壤特質的葡萄酒！2006年，Chakana更邀請意大利傳奇釀酒師Alberto Antonini 加盟合作，進一步獲得國際酒壇肯定！

是次Chakana品試會，將會於中環蘭桂坊高級南美(阿根廷及智利)餐廳Picada舉行，由Chakana Export Manager Matteo Acme帶領大家逐一品嚐酒莊旗下3個系列、共7款極具代表性的酒款，包括最高級別的Ayni 系列。參加者有機會跟Elia面對面交流，深度了解印加文明葡萄酒之精髓。
